We are the U.K's leading, independent provider of professional, caring and affordable 24 hour live in care. Live-in care is a bespoke care solution which enables you, or your loved one, to remain in the familiar surroundings of your own home. It is increasingly recognised as being a better, more affordable option than moving into a residential care home.
As the name suggests 'live-in care' involves a carer living in your home, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are there to support and assist in your daily routine. For many people, the personal, bespoke and dedicated support offered by live-in care enables them to continue living safely at home. It also means that family and friends have the peace of mind that you are being well cared for in your own home.

Throughout the pandemic, care homes —more than any other type of social care provision — became synonymous with higher than average infection and death rates. The combination of older, frail and often already unwell people sharing communal living space has shone a spotlight on their limitations.
Additionally, care homes face other structural issues. Between 2017 and 2040 the number of people in the U.K aged over 65 is projected to increase by 49 per cent. The numbers of people aged over 85 —the group most likely to need health and care services —is projected to rise even more rapidly, nearly doubling from 1.4 to 2.7 million over the same period.
This will place enormous pressures on care homes. The situation is expected to get progressively worse as there is an ongoing, staffing crisis and there are fears that care homes will be forced to close. Every winter hospitals are unable to discharge medically fit "bed-blocking" patients to care homes as there are not enough staff to look after them.
A recent survey found that if given the option, 97% of people would prefer to remain at home rather than move into a care home. It's not just the general public, health professionals too are increasingly suggesting live -in care as a real alternative to moving into a care home. Given the real benefits its unsurprising.
I can honestly say that finding your company and dealing with you has been a godsend. If you wish to use the following as a testimonial please do.
“ I highly recommend At Home Care and only wish that our family had found them sooner. My mother-in-law’s fears of having a stranger living in her home were totally dispelled when she met Giles during her assessment and from then on looked forward to having a live in carer.
The admin staff were extremely helpful in helping to select the carer and the carer herself fitted exactly to our requirements. She was excellent; really helpful and patient when dealing with my mother-in-law and keeping her home clean and organised. I would say she went above and beyond her duty. ”
Once again many thanks for all your help.
Warmest regards
Mrs L. C (Clapham)
We understand that having someone coming to live in your home can be a big step and we recognise that the relationship between a client and carer determines the success of live-in care.
We endeavour to introduce care workers who are carefully matched to each client. We work with a broad range of carers most of whom have a wealth of experience and some have nursing qualifications. All carers are fluent English speakers. The quality of our carers determines the quality of the service. We never compromise on the carers we employ, in fact we reject most of the applications we receive.
All our carers are carefully assessed as to their skills and aptitude and will provide the domestic help and personal care that you need in a sensible and competent way.
Key attributes that we look for in all our carers are: compassion, trustworthiness, reliability, friendliness, enthusiasm, patience and respect
All our carers undergo a stringent recruitment process. They are carefully checked, interviewed and assessed. For each carer we:
However daunting the idea of sharing your home with a carer seems you can rest assured that all our carers have gone through a thorough and rigorous selection process, in fact we reject far more applications than we receive.
Once the decision to have a live-in carer has been made we then spend time selecting the carer who we think will best matched a client's needs.
It's not an arbitrary decision.
As part of the process, before any care is put in place there is always a meeting with a client in their home with a representative of At Home Care. During this meeting note will be taken not just of your care needs, but also your routine, your likes & dislikes, your hobbies & interests and also the type of person & personality you would like a carer to be. Once a carer arrives they will spend time putting together an extensive care plan care plan with input from not just the person receiving care, but also when applicable, input from family members and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Our normal way of working is to establish a team of 2 or 3 regular carers, each of whom work 6-8 weeks at a time and who rotate with each other on an ongoing basis. This way clients get to know the carers well and carers get to know clients and their routines, all of which help make the process run smoothly. One the rare occasion that a client and carer don't hit it off we will work to replace the carer with someone else.
.We are very impressed with the kindness and consideration with which your carers are treating Mum.

We would like to thank you and your marvellous carers, Anna, Valya and Maria for their exceptional levels of care and compassion, as well as their ability to anticipate father’s needs. They all demonstrated kindness in carrying out every task along with empathy and a certain degree of humour when needed.
They all used their initiative and we were very impressed with their commitment, diligence and ability to build trusting relationships with father.
